Barclays Arrival MasterCard - $400 CC Bonus

June 23rd, 2014 at 01:45 pm

Hello all!
Following CCF's snowflakes, I was intrigued by the Barclays Arrival Travel Mastercard, which has a $400 bonus for travel after you spend $3,000 in 90 days, which we could easily do and pay off with some business expenses for my husband.

We may be traveling for my Daughters's soccer team in December, so i though this might behoove us to apply for it.

Any thoughts - negative or positive? CCF - do you have this card?

I just did the Chase card where you earn $225 for spending $500 in 90 days. That will be easy to finish.

Thanks for any advice on this card.

I do not have this card. My research in the past showed that the reward could only be applied for a travel expense as a statement credit. My husband does travel, but it is so hit and miss that it isn't really worth it for us to focus on travel rewards. It is still beneficial, and it sounds like it would work for your trip needs.

Always read the fine print and pay for your card charges in full!!

The MC sound terrific if DH travels regularly. Do you tracks CC benefits cumulatively? I wish our banks were less conservative and more generous to customers. All I get are crazy high dividends since I decided to by bank stocks several years ago.

I don't typically like travel rewards because they're so limiting, but I did do the Barclays card. If I recall, you can use the points to pay for any travel expense--airfare, hotel or car rental. So it's pretty flexible and doesn't have to be a certain airline or hotel. And it was really easy to redeem the points as far as I can remember.
